Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club is the reason my mom and I traveled to New York. Well, not Cabaret specifically. In July of last year, the show announced they had cast Adam Lambert as the Emcee, starring alongside Auli’i Cravalho as Sally Bowles. I love Adam Lambert, I saw him in concert when Queen came to Denver a few years back. My mom really loves Adam Lambert. She has been following him since his American Idol days. We had been thinking of an excuse to do another Broadway trip, and that excuse was Adam Lambert. The trip was loosely planned the same day they announced the casting, and before noon we had bought our tickets. At this performance, we had the full principal cast for the show itself and three understudies for the Prologue Company. We sat in the East Mezzanine, Mezzanine 1, Row B, Seats 114 and 113.

Tariffs are a tax on imported and exported goods directly affecting our trade. Tariffs can protect a country’s domestic companies, increase profits, and get the upper hand politically on other countries. Tariffs also make the price of imported goods more expensive, deterring customers from purchasing those goods. In President Trump’s executive order “Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Imposes Tariffs on Imports from Canada, Mexico, and China”, he claims that he will be putting an extra 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico and an extra 10% tariff on Chinese products. According to Trump, this order is meant to “hold Mexico, Canada, and China accountable to their promises of halting illegal immigration and stopping poisonous fentanyl and other drugs from flowing into our country.”

Music is everywhere. We listen to it for many reasons, including focusing or calming our minds. By listening to music, you allow rhythms to flow into your ears while jamming out. Songs and albums are meant to have hidden meanings and messages. Anyone can listen to the lyrics of a song and process them in many ways. Songwriters try to have a hidden message in their songs or albums by saying what they truly mean in a more creative way. It is common that these messages get jumbled up causing misinterpretation. Trying to coax out information or meanings is hard to do, but it allows your brain to understand other ways to look at things. This also helps you find what songs are your jam. The band Imagine Dragons is a good example of putting meanings into their music. Imagine Dragons is an American rock band formed in 2008, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is headed by lead singer, Dan Reynolds. The band has mostly upbeat and some mild to slow songs, often changing their pace in many different ways. They write songs that grab people’s attention. If the song is short and mournful, then people might feel sad singing along to the song. But, if the song is long and cheerful, people might feel happy and exuberated.

Regis University’s Intramural Basketball team, aptly named the “Dream Team” remains undefeated in the tournament. Last week, the Dream Team went up against the Desmet Killas, and won by a blowout score. Their continued success shows that the players in the team live up to their name.

Upon taking office on January 20th, 2025, one of President Trump’s first orders of business was cracking down on immigration. Titling the executive order, “Protecting The American People Against Invasion”, Trump’s blatant attack on immigrants is clear. Naming immigrants as invaders, aliens, and a threat to public safety in an executive order delivered straight from the white house to all of America displays Trump’s racism seeping into our politics. Let’s dive into how he has fulfilled this executive order into his presidency thus far.
